Ben comes to WPCC with 14 years of full-time pastoral ministry at churches in Indiana, Texas, and Kansas. He received a B.S. in Pastoral Ministry from Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, KS, and an M.Div. from Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition to ministry in local congregations, Ben served as an Army Reserve chaplain from 2015-2020. Ben married his college sweetheart, Rebekah, and they have one daughter, named Eliana.
Ben is sort of a "theological mutt" having grown up in the Assemblies of God (Pentecostal) and studied at an independent Christian college and a Wesleyan seminary. He has served in various ministry roles in a Lutheran congregation, a United Methodist congregation, an independent Christian congregation, and has now found his home within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Ben is an avid fan of the K-State Wildcats, the Kansas City Royals, and Chiefs. He can be described as a coffee snob. He avoids unprotected left-hand turns whenever possible, likes to wear plaid, refuses to eat mushrooms, and is often awake before the morning alarm goes off.
Ben's message is simple: Jesus loves you. The Good News really is GOOD! There are no hoops to jump through. You don't have to be good enough or do enough to receive God's gift of love. There is room at Christ's Table, and you are invited to take your place!
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost." (Isa. 55:1)
Grace & Peace to you!
